  • NAFDAC has invaded a popular market in Abia state, seizing goods and shutting down shops.

  • The agency is said to have gathered fake and expired goods worth billions of naira.

Men of the National Agency For Food and Drug Administration Control, NAFDAC have shut down several shops in the Eziukwu Market, Aba in Abia state for selling substandard and counterfeit products.

During a two-day operation, the agency shut down 159 shots, between December 16 and 17, after discovering large piles of fake and expired goods, which include beverages, carbonated drinks, wines, spirits, vegetable oils, and revalidated food items such as noodles, powdered milk, and yoghurt.
