Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has signed the N750,282,200,000 appropriation bill for the 2025 fiscal year into law.

The budget, recently passed by the Abia State House of Assembly, received the governor’s assent on Friday.

Governor Otti commended the lawmakers for their thorough scrutiny and swift passage of the budget, emphasizing that it would enable his administration to deliver quality services to the people of Abia.

“We can assure you that this government has its eyes on the ball and will continue to fulfill the promises we made to our people—promises to lift this state out of poverty and to ensure Abia never returns to being one of the dirtiest states, as it was in 2023,” the governor said.

He noted that this decision was made despite the financial challenges posed by the implementation of the new national minimum wage and the consistent payment of pensions.

The governor also provided updates on key projects that commenced in 2023, assuring that many of them would be delivered by 2025.

These projects include the Port Harcourt Road in Aba, Umuahia-Uzuakoli-Abiriba-Ohafia Road, Ohafia-Arochukwu Road to the Ini boundary, Okobo-Abam Road, the Omenuko Bridge, Nunya Road, as well as various hospitals and schools across the state.
