  • A gang of bandits have invaded a village in Zamfara state.

  • The armed men abducted over 40 people,hike also carting away some domestic valuables.

  • The victims, mostly woman and children were forced out of their homes in the dead of the night, before being abducted.

Armed bandits have raided a village in Zamfara state, abducting over forty people in the process.

Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the bandits attacked Gana village, in Shikafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State on Sunday, January 5, around 11pm.

Confirming the incident to Daily Trust, a resident in the village, who identified himself as Kabiru said the bandits invaded on motorcycles while everyone had retired to bed.

He added that they came with sophisticated guns and began to search each house, bringing out occupants.

But you know in this kind of situation, usually the men used to run into the bushes. So, most of the people that fell victims of the unfortunate incidence were women, children and aged persons.

“They took them into the bush. The bandits also carted away food items and other domestic valuables during the operation,” he said.

Another resident, Auwal Isa who confirmed the incident said it’s been two days, and the bandits are get to contact the families of the victim for ransom.

We are still expecting their calls because sometimes it takes days or weeks before they can contact families of their victims for negotiation about ransom,” he said. 

“Sometimes, the bandits are taking the kidnapped people to mining sites to do some work for them for Salome days before contacting their families. They can call any time they so wish.”

The Nigerian Naval force have rescued 8 people, after a boat capsized in Bayelsa.

The victim’s include 8 Police officers, and one civilian.
