  • Troops of the Nigerian Army have dismantled terrorist hideouts in Zamfara State.

  • The operation resulted in the killing of 25 bandits and the rescue of kidnapped victims.

  • The troops also cleared camps belonging to wanted bandits’ kingpin, Bello Turji.

Troops of the Nigerian Army have successfully dismantled terrorist hideouts in Zamfara State, killing 25 bandits and rescuing kidnapped victims.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator Joint Media Coordination Centre, Operation Fansan Yamma, the operation was conducted on January 10, 2025.

“The troops in an offensive operation supported by the Air Component Operation Fansan Yamma cleared some terrorists’ camps in the Fakai axis,” Abdullahi said.

“Some of the camps cleared include that of Bello Turji and Mallam Ila, where troops neutralized over 25 terrorists with more than 18 others sustaining gunshot wounds, thus delivering a setback to the terrorist network.”

Also, seven kidnapped victims were able to escape from the terrorists’ camps amid the operation. The military has assured the public of its dedication to restoring peace and security in the affected communities.

“Operation Fansan Yamma will continue to pursue and neutralise all terrorist elements within its joint operation area,” Abdullahi stated.

Court Orders Forfeiture Of N228.4m Linked To Ex-Abia Governor

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the interim freezing and forfeiture of N228.4 million linked to former Abia State Governor Theodore Orji.

The court’s decision, delivered by Justice Emeka Nwite, follows claims of money laundering and misappropriation of public funds by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
