One officer of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has passed away following a violent altercation with suspected Internet fraudsters.
Daily Report Nigeria gathered that the team had attempted to boycott a group of internet fraudsters, popularly known as Yahoo boys when it happened.
The incident happened on Friday, January 17, 2025 in Anambra State.

Reports from Peoples Gazette revealed that the anti graft agency had launched the operation on Friday morning, before the incident.
All didn’t go well as an officer sustained serious degree of injuries, while another was shot and died on the spot.

When contacted by the publication, the spokesperson of the EFCC, said he would conduct investigations on it.
