The naira appreciated significantly in the official foreign exchange market, strengthening to N1,531.20 against the dollar on Friday, from N1,548.59 on Thursday.

This reflects a positive trend for the currency in the official market.

On the black market, the naira also saw some improvement, closing at N1,660 per dollar on Friday, up from N1,650 the previous day.

In the week under review, the naira recorded overall gains, rising by N16.38 per dollar on a week-on-week basis. Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Olayemi Cardoso, expressed optimism about the nation’s economy, stating that it is expected to grow in 2025.

Naira Strengthens Against Dollar At Official Market

The naira gained ground against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Thursday, according to FMDQ data.

The naira appreciated by N1.54847 per dollar, up from N1.551.10 recorded the previous day, indicating a marginal appreciation of N2.63.
