NYSC Corps Members to Receive N77,000 Monthly Allowance Feb

The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has announced that corps members will start receiving a monthly allowance of N77,000 in February 2025. Ahmed made this disclosure while addressing the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream 11 corps members in Katsina.

According to Ahmed, the increased allowance has been captured in the 2025 Federal Government’s budget, and corps members can expect to start receiving the new amount once the budget is passed.

“This month (January) has already ended, but once the budget is passed. By next month (February), you will start receiving N77,000 instead of the usual N33,000,” Ahmed explained.

The NYSC Director General also urged corps members to reciprocate the government’s gesture during their service year.

“We will not send our corps members to wherever we have challenges of security threats. Wherever we send them, they should be less assured that the place is safe and secured for them to serve,” Ahmed assured.

Change of name no longer required for redeployment, says NYSC

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has taken a progressive step in its ongoing efforts to accommodate the needs of married female corps members by removing the requirement to change their maiden names for redeployment requests.

This decision, issued through a circular dated November 25, 2024, is set to significantly ease the process for married women seeking redeployment for reasons such as family relocation
