  • Bode George, a member of the PDP’s Board of Trustees, has endorsed Ude-Okoye as the authentic National Secretary, citing the Court of Appeal’s judgment in his favor.

  • George has called on Anyanwu to accept the decision and allow peace to reign in the party.

  • He emphasised that PDP remains more organized internally than the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

A member of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Board of Trustees and elder statesman, Bode George, has thrown his weight behind Sunday Ude-Okoye as the authentic National Secretary of the party.

This endorsement comes amid a leadership tussle between Ude-Okoye and Samuel Anyanwu over the position.

According to George, the decision to back Ude-Okoye was based on the judgment of the Court of Appeal, which affirmed him as the authentic National Secretary of the PDP.

“So far, the facts that they brought, I am completely on board with that. What do you expect the elders to do? The report was clear that there was no counter Court of Appeal report apart from the one from Okoye.”

George called on Anyanwu to accept the decision and allow peace to reign in the party.

“So, what do you expect us to do? If Anyanwu decides to go to the Supreme Court and the Supreme Court throws out that decision of the Court of Appeal, we will abide by that,” he said.

Despite the crisis rocking the PDP, George emphasized that the party remains more organized internally than the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
