Nnamdi Kanu, the head of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has advised against requests for his release, claiming he has not committed any crime.
This was revealed by his lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, in a statement on Saturday.
According to Ejimakor, Kanu is not happy with recent appeals from certain South East leaders, including Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, urging President Bola Tinubu to work on Kanu’s release.
Kanu emphasized that his release should not be an act of mercy or pardon, but rather a compliance with the subsisting Federal High Court judgment that declared his detention as unconstitutional.

He also thanked everyone working towards the restoration of security and tranquility in Igboland, and emphasized that he has committed no offense known to law.
