The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has strongly refuted allegations that its premium motor spirit (PMS) is of inferior quality compared to the one produced by Dangote Refinery.
A viral video had shown a content creator claiming that NNPCL fuel did not last as long as Dangote petrol.
However, in a statement signed by its Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, NNPCL described the claim as “misleading, false, baseless, and entirely unfounded.”

The company emphasized that its fuel is carefully formulated to ensure optimal efficiency, durability, and environmental sustainability for consumers.
“The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd strongly refutes the false and misleading allegations made in a viral video circulating online, which claims that NNPC fuel does not last,” the statement read.
Dangote Refinery To Import Crude Oil As NNPCL Supply Falls Short
Dangote Petroleum Refinery is set to import crude oil feedstock due to insufficient supply from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPCL).
The refinery has ramped up production to 500,000 barrels per day (bpd) and targets 650,000 bpd by June 2025.
