Ondo residents have hit the street, as they protest against constant kidnappings in the state.
According to reports, the recent kidnappings, which occurred at Owode Ilu-Abo in Akure South Local Government Area served as the last straw, as mine surveyors got kidnapped.
The victims, who are said to be natives of Akure were abducted in the last week.
Reacting to this, people, mostly women have taken to the road, as they block the Oba Adeaida Road in Akure, Ondo state.
A personal interview by The Nation with a sister to one of the victim, Comfort Afolabi revealed that the kidnappers are demanding for millions of naira before the victims are released.
She said;
The kidnappers had demanded N50million before they would begin negotiations for their release.”
She added that “the kidnappers have now placed the ransom at N100 million before they will release their victims.”
