FLASH: Quranic Teacher Kills Pupil In Jigawa

  • The police force in Jigawa state have arrested a cleric for murder.

  • The cleric was alleged to have killed and mutilated a pupil.

  • He reportedly beat and punished his pupil until he collapsed and died.

Men of the Jigawa state police command have arrested one Musa Wada, a Quranic teacher for murder.

Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the 45-year-old  accused, killed a pupil from his Quranic school, Bashir Adamu for skipping lessons repeatedly.

This happened in Jikas-Dabaja village, Jigawa State.

 

Confirming the arrest, the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam said the cleric subjected the boy to punishments, and beatings which led him to collapsing, and death.

Fearing for what he had done, he proceeded to mutilate the boy, cutting of his head and genitals before dumping his remains by a roadside.

In a bid to further cover up his crime, he buried the dismembered part in his farmland.

Adam added that the suspect was arrested following a rip-off on March 13, 2025.

Preliminary investigations showed that on March 12, villagers discovered the decomposing headless body along the Jikas-Dabaja road, leading to an investigation back to Wada’s Quranic school by the Police.

The suspect has confessed to the crime, and is currently being remanded in the police custody.
