In a significant development, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and several influential members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have joined forces with opposition leaders to form a political coalition against President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.

According to sources, key political figures, including Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi (represented by Yunusa Tanko), former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, and former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, were present at the coalition’s formation.

Other notable attendees included Peter Ahmeh, National Secretary of the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), and Segun Showunmi, Convenor of the Alternative movement.

The coalition’s formation signals a major political realignment, with both opposition and discontented APC members uniting in preparation for the 2027 elections.

The group’s agenda is expected to challenge Tinubu’s leadership and propose an alternative political direction for Nigeria.

Atiku’s Anti-Party Activities Still Haunting PDP – Wike

Lere Olayinka, Special Adviser on Public Communication to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has accused former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, of sowing the seed of anti-party in the PDP.

According to Olayinka, Atiku’s actions in 2003, 2007, and 2014 still haunt the party.
