  • President Bola Tinubu has unveiled the 125km Benin-Asaba Highway, expected to be completed within 30 months.

  • The highway is a legacy project aimed at enhancing regional connectivity and infrastructural development in Edo State.

  •  The project has been commended by various stakeholders, including the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, and the Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori.

President Bola Tinubu, represented by Edo State Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo, has unveiled the 125km Benin-Asaba Highway, expected to be completed within 30 months.

The highway is a legacy project aimed at enhancing regional connectivity and infrastructural development in Edo State.

Okpebholo commended the president’s love for Edo State, saying, “The President loves Edo State so much so that whenever he sees me, he always asks me about the welfare of the Edo people and also that of the Oba of Benin.”

He also thanked the president for his vision for the nation, saying the people are enjoying the dividends of democracy following the good initiatives his administration has embarked on.

Minister of Works Dave Umahi praised Okpebholo’s leadership, stating that Edo State has become a “construction site” within just 150 days of his administration.

Umahi also thanked Tinubu for his love for the people of Edo State, saying, “As a minister, I have visited the state about three times for projects.”

Governor of Delta State Sheriff Oborevwori appealed to the president to extend the road to Onitsha Bridge, saying it will improve the standard of living of the people and connect the Eastern and Western regions of Nigeria.

SERAP Drags Tinubu to Court Over Suspension of Fubara, Deputy, Lawmakers

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has taken President Bola Tinubu to court over the suspension of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, and lawmakers.

The six-month suspension was announced while the president proclaimed a state of emergency in the state.
