  • A groom is currently at large, following the alleged murder of his wife-to-be and a little girl.

  • The duo were said to have engaged in an argument, before he committed the crime and absconded.

The police force in Edo state have launched a manhunt for a man for the alleged murder of two people.

According to reports, the incident saw the soon to be husband kill his pregnant bride, and her 6-year-old daughter just seven days to their wedding ceremony.

This  happened on March 23, 2025 at Idiagbonya street in Ovbiogie community, along the Benin-Lagos expressway.

Neighbors identified the deceased as Osasu Aimienoho lsaac while her six year old daughter, who was also killed, is Aleluya Uwuigbe.

The would-be-husband is Wealth Nnamdi from Imo State.

 

According to a source who pleaded anonymity, the duo had an heated argument on Sunday, March 23, 2025, buy neighbors didn’t interfere since the couple were known for constant disagreement.

It however escalated quickly, and fatally as the groom murdered his pregnant bride and the young girl before escaping.

After committing the crime, the man locked up the two deceased persons in the room and escaped to an unknown destination.

“The odour that was emitting from the room attracted neighbours who then called the police.

“The police then forced the door open and took the pregnant woman and her daughter to the mortuary,” he said.

 

The family of the deceased have however demanded justice, as they call on the police force.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the Edo State Police Command, Moses Yamu said the police has begun investigation into the case.

The Nigerian government has spoken up ok the unpaid agreed allowance of corp memebrs.

According to reports, the government has promised to pay the backlog, although no specific time was mentioned.
