Barau FC players gained motivation of ₦2 million for ensuring a place in the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8 playoffs.

It is a rewarding step taken toward promotion to the top tier of Nigerian football.

Therefore, the morale of the team went higher when club chairman Barau I. Jibrin handed over the money to the team on a visit to the training ground last Monday.

In commanding the team to keep their discipline and tough resolve for the remaining time of the season, he also gave them the following motivational speech:

“My desire is to see Barau FC in the upper echelon among the elite teams in Nigeria and one day among the giants of the world. Once by the grace of God, I will carry you to NPFL.” 

His involvement shows that it is not a one-off gesture but attaches significance to success through youth and ongoing investment in the club’s future.

Barau FC, along with Wikki Tourists, secured their positions in Super 8 after topping Conference C.

With this, dreams of an NPFL promotion for the first time can now be dreamt of by the fans and stakeholders.

The players pledged to give it their all during the playoffs, spurred on by this incentive and public pressure.
