Former Super Eagles forward Brown Ideye has announced his retirement from professional football.

In a post on X, the former Olympiacos star wrote that he had “decided to retire” after careful thought, and he thanked God, his family and friends for their support.
The 36-year-old built a long club career in England, Greece, China, Ukraine and Spain, and fans often praised his pace and finishing.
Additionally, Ideye earned 28 caps for Nigeria and scored six international goals.
He also helped the Super Eagles win the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
He added that football “will always be a part of my life” as he moves into the next chapter.
