Suspension ratified by state working committee after ward-level action.
The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended Senator Gbenga Daniel, a former governor of the state, alongside his political ally, Kunle Folarin, over allegations of anti-party conduct.
In a statement issued by the party’s spokesperson, Nuberu Olufemi, the state working committee confirmed it had ratified the decision taken at ward level on August 19, following recommendations of disciplinary panels set up to probe the matter.
According to the party, Ward 4 in Shagamu Local Government Area invited Daniel to appear before a disciplinary committee to answer to allegations of misconduct.

However, he allegedly refused to honour the invitations, failed to submit a written defence, and declined to attend scheduled hearings.
The party further accused Daniel and Folarin of using their influence to harass members, pressuring them to withdraw petitions filed against them. The committees said the duo’s actions interfered with the disciplinary process, prompting indefinite suspension pending further investigations.
Olufemi said the ratification by the state working committee demonstrates the APC’s resolve to enforce discipline and protect the integrity of its constitution.
