The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has condemned the Malumfashi massacre in Katsina State, where 30 worshippers were shot dead in a mosque and 20 villagers burned alive.

The party stated the killings are part of a larger wave of terror in Katsina and Zamfara, which has claimed over 140 lives in the past two months.

ADC urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to declare a State of Emergency in the affected states to restore order and protect lives.

The party also criticised the PDP Governors for holding a political meeting in Zamfara shortly after the killings, describing the act as insensitive and disrespectful to the victims.

ADC called on the federal government to re-evaluate Nigeria’s national security architecture, noting that the Chief of Defence Staff’s recommendation for citizens to acquire self-defence skills indicates systemic failure.

The party warned that both the APC and PDP prioritise political power over citizens’ safety and welfare.
