World Cup qualifiers: Ancelotti explains Neymar snub

On selection, Ancelotti told ESPN Brazil that national-team players must be at “100 per cent physical condition,” so he will pick those fully ready to compete.

He added he had not given personal explanations because the players “perfectly know the idea of the national team” and can contact him — “Rodrygo has my number, Neymar does too.”

In short, Ancelotti has put availability and sharpness ahead of reputation.

As Brazil head into the World Cup qualifiers, the coach will rely on fit players who can deliver immediately.
