He holds 1,185 points, ahead of Egypt’s Omar Assar (33rd, 930).
Aruna built his total over 12 months, not one match.
He scored 350 points as runner-up at the 2025 ITTF African Cup in Tunis, 210 for a semi-final at the WTT Star Contender in Doha and 175 at the World Championships.
Because the system uses a rolling 12-month count, those results still protect his position for now.
However, several of those scores are near expiration.
With limited recent match play, Aruna needs strong showings in upcoming events to keep his place among the world elite.
Among Nigerian men, Matthew Kuti fell four places to 200th (89), Abdulbasit Abdulfatai dropped to 206th (81), Olajide Omotayo slipped to 212th and Taiwo Mati is 221st; Muizz Adegoke rose to 232nd.
On the women’s side, Fatimo Bello leads Nigeria at 122nd (189), while Ajoke Ojomu (158), Aminat Fashola (186) and Sukurat Aiyelabegan (211) lost ground.
Globally, China still sets the pace as Sun Yingsha extended her women’s lead to 12,200 points after winning the WTT Europe Smash.
In the men’s list, Lin Shidong and Wang Chuqin top the standings, with Tomokazu Harimoto and Hugo Calderano close behind.
