This comes after the governor ordered the arrest of anyone found with a dreaded hair in the state capital, Minna.
The state governor of Niger State, Gov Umar Bago has made a U-turn on his earlier statement on physical appearance in the state.
Recall that the governor, while imposing new security rules and orders in the state ordered the arrest of anyone with dreadlocks in the state, tagging it as ‘unacceptable haircuts’.
In recent news, following criticisms received, Bago, in a statement released on Wednesday, April 23, said the directive is to prevent criminals activities in the state, and not any form of hostility towards people with dreadlocks.
“Yesterday we read a riot act on hooliganism and people misunderstood our words for people who have dreadlocks,”
“We don’t have a problem with dreadlocks but we have a problem with the cult here with dreadlocks. So if you have any business and you have dreadlocks, please come to Niger State. All that is media propaganda.” he added

An underaged boy has passed away, after being hit by a stray bullet in Lagos state.
This happened during an anti-cultism rally in the state.
