A 42-year-old pastor, Samson Ajayi, has been remanded in Olokuta Correctional Centre for allegedly raping his 17-year-old biological daughter in Akure, Ondo State.
Ajayi, a father of five, was arraigned on two counts of rape and defilement after his wife reported the alleged abuse to police at Igoba, Akure North Local Government Area.

Prosecutor Supol Martins Olowofeso told the court that the alleged sexual abuse spanned over four years, from March 2021 to August 2025, at the family home. He added that Ajayi confessed to the acts, claiming he was under a “generational curse” beyond his understanding.
Olowofeso further revealed that the victim’s mother was unaware of the abuse until she discovered her matrimonial bed disturbed. After persistent questioning, the daughter disclosed the abuse, which prompted her mother to report the matter to police, resulting in Ajayi’s arrest at a prayer mountain.
“The offences contravene Sections 3 (a, b, and c) and 25 of the Ondo State Violence Against Persons Prohibition Laws of Ondo State, 2021,” the prosecutor stated.
Ajayi’s lawyer, Kehinde Osadugba, requested a settlement, citing the mother’s forgiveness, but Magistrate Taiwo Lebi denied the plea. The case was adjourned to November 20, 2025, for review.
Gunmen Abduct Health Staff from Residence in Ondo
Gunmen have abducted Pastor Ayodeji Akesinro, a staff member of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Owo, Ondo State, from his home in Upenme, Owo Local Government Area.
The armed men reportedly stormed his residence at around 7:00 pm on Thursday, forcibly taking him to an unknown location.
