Potential allies are giving Atiku’s group a wide berth, according to Onanuga.
The Presidency has taken a swipe at former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s recently touted political coalition, describing it as “leprous” and “dead on arrival”.
Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, made the remarks on his official X handle.
“Atiku’s political future looks bleak. The coalition that he, El-Rufai, Babachir, and new member Baba-Ahmed are cobbling together has disintegrated. Potential allies, including former running mate Ifeanyi Okowa and defunct CPC members, are giving his leprous group a wide berth. Atiku is a loser again,” onanuga wrote.

The comment sparked wide reactions across the political space, coming shortly after another Tinubu aide, Mr. Tunde Rahman, described the defection of former Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, and the sitting Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), as a “massive blow” to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
