The Karasuwa Local Government Area has ordered the arrest and prosecution of anyone found with sharp objects in the state.
According to reports, the LGA passed the new regulations as a tactical effort to reduce insecurity and increase public safety in the area.
The Bye law prohibits anyone from possessing cutlasses and other sharp objects in public areas, including markets and communities within the local government jurisdiction.
Confirming the latest developments, the Director of Personnel Management for the Council, Magaji Muhammad urged security operatives to make sure the law is followed, and anyone found wanting should be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.
An awareness campaign has also been launched to inform the public about the new law.
Army Raids Criminal Hideouts in Oshodi, Mushin
Men of the Nigerian Army have gone head to head against insecurity, as they raid two criminal hideouts in Lagos.
The troop, led by Brigadier General Matthew Oyekola collaborated with local vigilante, and the Man-O-war, as they raid hideouts in the Oshodi and Mushin areas of Lagos State.
