- A traditional ruler, Chief Adeniyi Ifedayo, has been accused of abducting and raping a 12-year-old girl in Laagba community, Ondo East LGA.
- The victim’s father, Mr. Ajayi Fulani, said the monarch held the girl in his home and later dropped her at Cathedral Junction in Akure after an alarm was raised.
- She was admitted and treated for six days at the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital after being referred from the General Hospital in Ondo.
Mr. Ajayi Fulani has called on the government and security agencies to ensure justice is served after his 12-year-old daughter was allegedly kidnapped and raped by the Baale of Laagba community, Chief Adeniyi Ifedayo, in Ondo East Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Speaking on Friday, Fulani claimed the traditional ruler took advantage of his absence—due to his job as a security guard—to commit the act.

“I noticed her absence from home on Sunday, May 25, 2025, and I began searching for her immediately. The Baale kidnapped my daughter and kept her in his house in the community where he forcefully had carnal knowledge of her,” he said.
Fulani revealed that after the community raised alarm over the girl’s disappearance, the monarch dropped her off at Cathedral Junction in Akure, where her elder sister, Yemisi, was able to reconnect with her.
“She was first taken to the General Hospital in Ondo but was referred to the Mother and Child Hospital at the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital (UNIMEDTH), Ondo, where she was admitted and treated for six days,” he added.
The incident has sparked outrage in the community, as residents continue to demand a full investigation and swift action against the traditional ruler.
