Renowned Kano-based industrialist and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, has died at the age of 94.
He passed away in the early hours of Saturday in Abuja, ending a lifetime of significant contributions to Nigeria’s business and humanitarian landscape.
His death was confirmed by his Principal Private Secretary, Mr Mustapha Junaid, who shared a condolence message via Facebook.

“Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun. It is with heavy heart that I announce the passing of our beloved father Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata. May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus and forgive his shortcomings,” the statement read.
Mr Junaid further noted that details of the Janazah (funeral prayers) would be communicated in due course.

Alhaji Dantata was one of Nigeria’s most influential and wealthiest figures, widely admired across the country and especially revered in the North.

He leaves behind a powerful legacy in both the private and philanthropic sectors, and tributes have continued to pour in from business leaders, clerics, and public officials across the country.
