Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has officially tied the knot with longtime partner Lauren Sanchez in a grand wedding held Friday on San Giorgio Island, Venice, opposite the iconic Doge’s Palace.

Sanchez marked the occasion on Instagram, sharing a romantic photo of the couple alongside a heart emoji. Bezos looked dapper in a black tuxedo and bow tie, while Sanchez dazzled in a custom Dolce & Gabbana gown.

The star-studded event welcomed 250 high-profile guests, including Kim Kardashian, Oprah Winfrey, Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Bill Gates, Eric Schmidt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Orlando Bloom, Usher, Jewel, Tom Brady, and OpenAI’s Sam Altman.

Adding to the fairytale atmosphere, Matteo Bocelli—son of famed tenor Andrea Bocelli—gave a live performance dedicated to the newlyweds.

Spanning three days, the celebration began Thursday at the Madonna dell’Orto cloister and concluded Saturday with a lavish reception at a former shipyard complex. While vows were exchanged in Venice, it’s unclear whether a civil ceremony also occurred.

Despite the elegance of the affair, critics—including environmentalists and anti-tourism groups—voiced concerns over the display of wealth and its potential impact on Venice’s fragile ecosystem.

Nonetheless, regional leaders celebrated the event’s economic impact. Veneto region president Luca Zaia projected it would generate €34 million in tourism revenue and local business support.

Bezos and Sanchez’s relationship first made headlines in 2019 after leaked texts exposed their romance while both were still married. Bezos and his wife of 25 years, MacKenzie Scott, later announced an amicable divorce, with Scott receiving over $35 billion and retaining co-parenting of their four children.

Sanchez, who has three children from previous relationships, ended her 13-year marriage to former husband Patrick Whitesell amid the revelation of her involvement with Bezos.
