Police Recover Stolen Hilux, Arrest Two Suspects In Taraba

The Taraba State Police Command has recovered a stolen Toyota Hilux and arrested two suspects linked to the theft.

The development was confirmed on Monday in a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, James Lashen Saminu.

According to the statement, the operation was carried out on August 28, 2025, after the Anti-Kidnapping Squad in Kano State alerted Taraba police about the movement of the stolen vehicle. The report revealed that a white Toyota Hilux without a plate number had been stolen from one Mr. Murtala Musa of No. 6 Dutse Road, Kano, and was believed to be headed for Jalingo.

“Two individuals, Yallah Kadara of Anguwan Kasa and Sa’ad Bello, were found in possession of the vehicle and were promptly arrested,” the statement read.

Commending the operatives for their swift action, the Commissioner of Police, Betty Isokpan, assured that the case remains under investigation. She further stressed the Command’s determination to safeguard lives and property across the state.

She also appealed to residents for stronger collaboration with security agencies. According to her, the public should continue to share timely and accurate intelligence, as “community collaboration remains a critical tool in combating crime.”
