Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, expressed worry over the renewed attacks, calling for more efforts to be put in place to stem the tide of the insurgency. “It is unfortunate that the renewed Boko Haram attacks and kidnappings in many communities are almost on daily basis without confrontation, signaling that Borno State is losing ground,” Zulum said.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, vowed to enhance the capacity of troops to neutralize ongoing threats to national security.

“This will be done by infusing necessary capabilities into our training schedules to better prepare them to adapt to dynamic situations and position us more effectively to counter threats to national security,” Oluyede said.
