Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk said he is always worried when Victor Osimhen joins Nigeria, after the striker left Saturday’s 1–0 World Cup qualifier against Rwanda with what looked like an ankle problem.

Osimhen, 26, limped off in the first half and was replaced by Cyriel Dessers at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, a blow to Nigeria’s attack as they prepare to face South Africa next.
Buruk, speaking on Now Spor, reiterated his club’s concern and said they are ready to fly Osimhen back to Türkiye if needed.
“If there is a problem with Osimhen, we want to send a plane immediately and bring him back to Türkiye. We hope it’s nothing serious,” – he said.
“I was at dinner when the waiter saw him and came to me with a phone in his hand. I always have fears about sending him to the national team, but tonight we experienced a bit of that. We reached Osimhen. The information we received is that he has pain in his foot.” -he added.
Team medics later described the issue as a shin bruise and confirmed Osimhen woke up in discomfort, ruling him out of the upcoming trip to Bloemfontein to face South Africa.
The club and national team will continue scans and treatment before deciding his next steps.
This development matters for both Nigeria and Galatasaray.
In a crucial qualifier, the Super Eagles lose their most effective forward, and Galatasaray must compete to get their best striker healthy enough to play for the team.
Coaches and fans will watch medical updates closely in the coming days.
