  • Tantita credited with saving Nigeria’s oil economy from crude theft.

  • Okou slams Urhobo, Itsekiri for silence during oil crisis.

  • He urges FG, NNPCL to protect Tantita’s mandate.

A takeholder of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Comrade Andaowei Okou has praised the result-driven approach of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited in its pipeline surveillance contract with the Nigerian government.

Okou, who is the Immediate past Chairman of the IYC Obotebe Clan, also watered down campaigns f calumny by Urhobo and Itsekiris in a company delivering on its productivity mandate.

According to Okou, both Urhobo and Itsekiri nations were silent “when Nigeria’s economy was under siege due to massive crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism.”

“The silence from major regional voices, including the Urhobo Progressive Union (UPU) and the Itsekiri Nation, was deafening.

“At a time when the nation needed defenders, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, led by High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), rose to the occasion. Tantita didn’t just provide surveillance; they provided hope, results, and economic recovery.

“While others were watching or playing politics, Tantita put boots on the ground, restored peace in the creeks, curbed illegal bunkering, and brought Nigeria’s crude production back to a globally competitive level. This is not a claim. It is a fact supported by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and industry experts.

“Where were those now shouting from rooftops when the economy was bleeding?

“Why didn’t the UPU and Itsekiri Nation speak up or step in when billions of naira were being lost daily and communities were suffering environmental devastation?”he quizzed.

“It is now fashionable to criticize Tantita, but it is shameful and unpatriotic to ignore the clear truth: Tantita rescued Nigeria at its lowest point of oil insecurity.”

The youth leader emphasized that “Tantita has created jobs, empowered communities across ethnic lines, brought back investor confidence in the oil sector and delivered where others were silent or complicit.”

“We will not sit quietly while certain interests try to undermine this legacy. No responsible government, agency, or stakeholder should play politics with a company that is securing Nigeria’s economic lifeline.

“I call on the Federal Government, the NNPCL, and all peace-loving people of the Niger Delta to stand by the truth and protect Tantita’s mandate. The facts are there. The people know. The nation remembers.”
