JUST IN: 11 Dead As Bandits Attack Sokoto Villages

  • No less than 11 people have passed away, following a bandits attack in Sokoto state.

  • It was gathered that the bandits attacked a total of 3 communities, creating havoc in the process.

Tension has rocked Sokoto state, following yet another bandit attack in the state.

According to reports from security analyst, Zagazola Makama the gunmen attacked in a coordinated manner, striking villages in Gwadabawa and Sabon Birni Local Government Areas.

In a post on his official X handle, Zagazola Makama noted that the attack occured in the evening of Thursday, May 2, around 7:30pm.

He wrote;

The assailants, said to be in large numbers, first stormed Satiru Village, killing five residents.

 

They then moved to Kunkurus Village, where one person was killed, before proceeding to Shadawa community in Sabon Birni LGA, where they shot and killed another five people, bringing the total number of casualties to eleven,”

 

Following the receipt of distress calls, the troops under Operation FANSAN YANMA, and the men of the Nigeria Police force swung into action, but the bandits had already left the areas.

The neutralization comes after a heated gun duel between the insurgents and the troops in the state.
