Human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju has vowed to take legal action against Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) over its alleged involvement in the recent arrest and reported mistreatment of social media activist, VeryDarkMan, and his associate, C-Park.
In a strongly worded statement posted on Facebook on Saturday, Adeyanju criticized the bank for what he described as “bad behavior” and pledged to sever all financial ties with the institution.
“Once I get back to Nigeria on Tuesday, I will transfer all my money from GTB to another bank and close the account. Both in my Naira and Domiciliary accounts,” Adeyanju wrote.

“There must be consequence for bad behavior. And we will still sue the bank for the role they played in the arrest & inhumane treatment of VDM and his friend, C-Park.”
The comment comes amid public outcry surrounding the circumstances of VeryDarkMan’s arrest, which many online users have described as politically motivated and unjust.
Details of the incident and the specific role allegedly played by GTBank remain unclear, but Adeyanju’s statement suggests legal proceedings are being prepared.
GTBank has yet to release an official response to the allegations at the time of this report.
VeryDarkMan, a controversial figure known for his bold commentary on social and political issues, has a significant following online. His arrest has sparked debate about freedom of expression and the role of institutions in suppressing dissent.
