Nasarawa Police Arrest Gun Manufacturers, Buyers in Lafia

Operatives of the Nasarawa State Police Command have arrested two suspected gun manufacturers and four buyers in Lafia, the state capital.

The state Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Mohammed Jauro, disclosed the arrests during a press briefing on Tuesday.

CP Jauro said the suspected manufacturers, James Philip and Alpha Philip of Faferuwa area, Lafia, were apprehended on August 31, 2025. Subsequent investigations led to the identification of four buyers and distributors.

The suspects include Usman Abubakar of Shendam Road, Lafia; Yakubu Danladi of Mararaba Akunza, Lafia; Usman Kasimu alias Bobo of Bukan Sidi, Lafia; and Abdullahi Adamu, also of Bukan Sidi, Lafia.

Authorities recovered 13 long-range single-barrel guns, 10 short guns, a revolver, three swords, various criminal charms, three police uniforms and a face cap, as well as three gun-manufacturing machines and related tools from the suspects.
