Sean “Diddy” Combs is now set to be sentenced on October 3, following a mutual agreement between federal prosecutors and his legal team to proceed with the original timeline, ending a prolonged back-and-forth over scheduling.

Although recently cleared of sex trafficking and racketeering charges, the music mogul remains in federal custody and faces sentencing on two prostitution-related convictions.

Despite the lesser charges, prosecutors are pressing for a sentence of four to five years, citing the need for accountability and pointing to a documented history of abuse.

During a brief virtual hearing on Tuesday, Diddy joined via audio from the Metropolitan Detention Center. He greeted his lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, calmly, though the weight of the proceedings was apparent.

Federal Judge Arun Subramanian has repeatedly refused bail, referencing troubling evidence from the trial, including a 2016 surveillance video showing Diddy physically assaulting his former partner, Cassie, in a hotel hallway.

“You said this case had violence. Domestic violence is violence,” the judge emphasized during last week’s bail hearing, firmly rejecting a defense offer of a $1 million bond and house arrest in Miami.

While the defense team is requesting a reduced sentence of around two years based on Diddy’s clean record and cooperation, the court has shown little indication of leniency.

In a letter to the court, Agnifilo confirmed there were no objections to the sentencing timeline, which includes:

• Defense objections deadline: September 5
• Prosecution’s response deadline: September 12
