The Youth Advocacy For Good Governance has applauded the executive governor of Delta State, his excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for conducting a free and fair election.
In a statement signed on Monday, March 7, 2021, the Chairman, Comrade Mike Uti Azukaego, Provost, Comrade Victor Egwuyenga, and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Chuks Golden express optimism over the process of the local government election, says “It is something to be regarded as a litmus test for the preparation towards 2023 election.
According to the statement, an inspection was carried out by the team members of YAGG across the 25 local government areas, and the reports from the election are something to be commended.

The statement further applauds Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for benevolently accommodate women in the quest for good governance. Adding that “For the first time 17 women successfully won their vote in the local government level.
The advocacy group went further to address the needs for youth activeness in politics, thanking Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa for actively involving more youth participation in the election process of the State. Stating that, “Election is the festival of democracy which allow everyone to be actively involved.
YAGG also advised the youth to deviate from being tools used by greedy politicians who pose to be leaders in disguise.
The socio-political group is a gender-sensitive platform that accommodates all gender without discriminating anyone, it core purposes is on good governance, gender inequality, youth advocacy, and the unending insecurity bothering the country.
The group also frowns over the state of insecurity in the country, calling on the government to give urgent attention to the security of its citizens.

The group also reminds the govt to be conscious of the fact that Nigerians are expecting a lot from them concerning the case of the Fulani herdsmen, kidnapping, and banditry. Adding that, it has become a paradigm shift in the country.
The group also calls for local government autonomy, stating that, it is the responsibility of the local government to be independent of state control.
