The Bauchi State Police Command has apprehended four individuals allegedly involved in the illegal manufacturing and distribution of counterfeit herbicides within Bauchi metropolis.
This was made known in a statement released on Sunday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ahmed Wakil.
Wakil stated that the arrests were made on May 3, 2025, around 1:30 p.m., after a team from the Command’s Monitoring Unit acted on credible intelligence and uncovered the illicit operation at a residence in Unguwan Liman, Bauchi.

The suspects arrested at the scene include 21-year-old Usman Suleman of Karofin Madaki, 20-year-old Ahmad Musa of Wuntin Dada, and 17-year-old Muhammad Nuhu of Fadaman Mada. They were reportedly caught red-handed during the production of the fake agrochemicals.
A subsequent search of the property yielded various incriminating items: 26 cartons branded “Force Up,” an empty “Gobora” carton, two drums containing unidentified liquids, two buckets, 100 empty one-litre bottles labeled “Force Up,” sealing tapes, super glue, leather pieces, charcoal, welding spoons, and a charcoal stove.
During questioning, the trio identified 36-year-old Muhammad Muhammad of Fadaman Mada as a key accomplice. He was later apprehended by authorities.
“All suspects are currently in custody as investigations are ongoing,” Wakil said, adding that the Command is determined to “clamp down on all forms of illegal production and sales of fake agrochemicals in the state.”
