President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has shared his struggles during the early days of his presidency, admitting that the weight of criticism and economic challenges almost made him stop reading newspapers.
Speaking during a visit to Katsina State, Tinubu said, “When we started, it was challenging, and I almost ran away from watching or reading the newspapers. Speaking at the 20th anniversary dinner of Chapel Hill Denham in Lagos, Adesina lamented Nigeria’s declining GDP per capita, attributing it to inconsistent economic planning and poor implementation by successive governments.
“More Nigerians are poorer today than they were at Independence in 1960,” Adesina noted, urging urgent steps to reposition Nigeria as Africa’s economic powerhouse.
