A man has been sentenced to death for culpable homicide, amongst other crimes.

The accused was said to have kidnapped and killed a commercial sex worker in Ekiti state.
A man has bagged a rough sentence, after being found guilty beyond reasonable doubt of murder.
Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the man, David Isaiah, a 26-year-old man was said to have kidnapped, raped and killed a commercial sex worker, identified as Comfort James in Ondo state.

The accused, Isaiah was said to have conspired with Saviour Daniel, who later died from the hurdled of the case to Kidnappers commit the act.
Isaiah was first arraigned before Justice Lekan Olatawura of the Ekiti State High Court, sitting in Ado Ekiti, on 18th April 2024 on a three-count charge of conspiracy, kidnapping, and murder.
Speaking on the incident, the defendant noted he and his accomplice had sex with the deceased, and then proceeded to call her colleagues for a N100,000 ransom before killing her.
Her hands and neck were tied when the ransom was not forthcoming, and when we discovered she had seen our faces, to avoid being implicated, we poured herbicide in her mouth, and she later died,” he said.
Delivering judgement, justice Olatawura said;
“I therefore find that the prosecution has proven beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant conspired with his late friend (Saviour Daniel) to kidnap and murder Comfort James.
“Consequent upon the foregoing, the defendant is found guilty as charged.
Any sympathetic consideration in favour of the defendant cannot, therefore, be justified.
“Consequently, the defendant is sentenced to 21 years’ imprisonment for conspiracy, life imprisonment for kidnapping, and for murder, the judgement of this court upon you is that you be hanged by the neck until you are dead; may God have mercy on your soul.”
