  • Accountant-General says technical failure disrupted payroll

  • Zenith Bank accounts most affected by payment backlog

  • FG assures workers pending salaries will be reprocessed promptly

The Federal Government has blamed a “technical network glitch” for the delay in paying June salaries to some federal civil servants, particularly those with accounts at Zenith Bank Plc.

The Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF), in a statement issued Friday, said an internal review revealed that the disruption affected payroll processing across several Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

“We deeply regret the inconvenience this unfortunate incident has caused and wish to assure all affected employees that immediate steps have been taken to resolve the issue,” the OAGF said.

“Payment Resolution Underway”

The Accountant-General stressed that the Office was working closely with service providers to reprocess failed payments and ensure prompt disbursement to all affected staff.

“The welfare of Federal Government employees remains a top priority,” the statement read. “We are committed to transparency, accountability, and efficiency in all payroll operations, and we appeal for calm as we resolve this issue.”

The OAGF urged federal workers yet to receive their salaries to remain patient, assuring them that no effort would be spared to ensure everyone receives their rightful entitlements.
