A troubling case has emerged in Anambra State, where an 18-year-old apprentice is accused of impregnating 10 girls in just five months, including his master’s daughter and a salesgirl.

The state’s Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo, is now calling for public assistance in handling the case.

Obinabo shared the details during a live social media broadcast on Wednesday, expressing her concern over the young man’s behavior, which escalated after his dismissal from his apprenticeship. Within three months, he had impregnated his master’s daughter and another girl, leading to his expulsion.

“This boy was sent to learn a trade at the age of 18, and within three months, he impregnated his master’s daughter and the salesgirl. He was sent packing,” Obinabo stated in the video.

Two months later, the teenager reportedly went on to impregnate eight other girls in his village.

The situation has escalated to the point where the boy’s mother visited Obinabo’s office, expressing her fears.

“Anytime I see a girl coming towards our house nowadays, my heart would jump. Please, I need help,” the mother said, according to the commissioner.

When asked how he managed to convince the girls, the boy reportedly told Obinabo he simply expressed love and promised marriage once he became wealthy.

“I asked the boy the magic he uses in luring the girls to bed, but he told me he always tells them that he loves them and would like to marry them any time he acquires wealth,” Obinabo said.

The commissioner closed by acknowledging the overwhelming nature of the situation, asking, “Is it spiritual?” and appealing for solutions from the public.

“This matter is beyond me because of the boy’s age and the number of pregnant girls involved. That’s why I need help to solve it,” Obinabo concluded.
