The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has distributed a total of N2.22 trillion to the three tiers of government in August 2025, despite a decline of N231 billion in gross statutory revenue from the previous month.
The disbursement, announced at FAAC’s September meeting in Abuja chaired by Finance Minister Wale Edun, included statutory revenue, value added tax (VAT), electronic money transfer levy (EMTL), and exchange differences. The federal government received N810.05 billion, states shared N709.83 billion, and local governments got N522.23 billion. Oil-producing states received N183.01 billion as 13 percent derivation.

FAAC also set aside N124.84 billion for collection costs, while N1.28 trillion went into transfers, interventions, and refunds. VAT revenues rose to N722.61 billion, up N34.67 billion from the preceding month, with N672.90 billion distributed to the three tiers. Meanwhile, gross statutory revenue fell to N2.83 trillion, down from N3.07 trillion, affecting allocations across all levels.
Speaking at the meeting, Edun commended FAAC members for effective resource allocation and urged strict prudence in public fund management.
He noted that federal reforms were producing tangible results for the nation’s fiscal health.
