  • The NDLEA have recorded a breakthrough on drug abuse and trafficking, as thousands of illicit drugs were seized.

  • According to reports, over 300 thousands illicit drugs were seized, as well as tons of explosives.

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA have clapped back on drug abuse and terrorism, as they arrest offenders.

Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the agency intercepted a truck loaded with 942 explosives along the Kaduna-Zaria expressway.

Confirming the arrest, the director, media and advocacy of the NDLEA, Femi Babafemi, in a statement released on Sunday in Abuja added that the truck was en-route to Zamfara when the agency intercepted it.

The suspect, identified as Nura Muhammad, a 30-year-old man was said to have concealed the explosives in a sack for transportation.

 

In related news, blocks of illicit drugs were seized from five suspects In Kano state.

The suspects, who are said to be led by a notorious kingpin identified as Aminu Musa were arrested by the NDLEA on Wednesday, April 30 at Dangoro market with 50 blocks of skunk weighing 21.6kg recovered from them.

 

Yet another crackdown in Uromi, Edo state led to the seizure of thousands of illicit drugs.

The NDLEA reportedly intercepted a Toyota bus conveying opioids from Onitsha to Auchi on Thursday, May 1.

Recovered from the vehicle include: 314,020 pills of tramadol, rophynol, diazepam, exol5; 638 bottles of codeine syrup and 200 ampoules of pentazocine injection.

“A suspect Dare Adeyemo was taken into custody,” Mr Babafemi said.

 

A notorious drug dealer and trafficker, identified as Dominic Chiegozie Obijiaku, a 52-year-old managing director of Ovidaq International Ltd, Dominic Chiegozie Obijiaku.

The suspect was said to have imported a consignment of 2,616,060 pills of tramadol 225mg at Apapa seaport in Lagos.

“A follow-up operation at his house in Lekki led to the seizure of 51 wraps of Canadian Loud weighing 34grams,” Mr Babafemi said.
