Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has condemned the decision by the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia to formally recognise a Palestinian state, describing it as “rewarding terror with an enormous prize.”
Netanyahu, speaking on Sunday during a visit to the United States, insisted that Israel would not allow the creation of a Palestinian state west of the Jordan River, warning that such a move would threaten national security.

“I have a clear message to those leaders who are recognising a Palestinian state after the horrendous October 7 massacre: you are rewarding terror with an enormous prize,” Netanyahu said.
He added that he had resisted “tremendous pressure, both domestic and from abroad” to accept Palestinian statehood. Netanyahu also announced that his government has doubled the number of Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank referred to by Israel as Judea and Samaria and intends to continue expanding them.
The Israeli prime minister said the country’s official response to the recognition would be delivered upon his return from the US trip.
He reiterated Israel’s commitment to blocking any attempt to impose a Palestinian state in the heart of Israeli territory.
