Armed bandits have abducted four residents and looted several shops in Gyale village, Mansur District of Alkaleri Local Government Area, Bauchi State.

The attack, which occurred on Sunday night, July 20, was confirmed by the Bauchi State Police Command through its spokesperson, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil.

Wakil revealed that the assailants invaded the village around 11:30 p.m., gaining access through the Yankari Game Reserve. During the raid, they looted five provision stores before abducting four individuals.

The victims have been identified as Tasiu Malam Yahaya (32), Hakilu Ubayo (15), Abdul Aziz Suleiman (28), and Rabiu Ganjua (16)—all of whom either own or operate the affected shops. They were taken to an undisclosed location.

Following the incident, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Sani Omolori-Aliyu, ordered the Divisional Police Officer in Alkaleri to lead a coordinated search-and-rescue mission in collaboration with local vigilantes and hunters.

“The area is now calm, but our operatives are still combing the nearby bushes to locate and rescue the victims,” Wakil said. “We are hopeful of making arrests and bringing the perpetrators to justice.”

He added that the command, under the leadership of CP Omolori-Aliyu, is intensifying efforts to tackle the growing threat of kidnapping and violent crimes in the region.
