Former presidential candidate and activist, Omoyele Sowore, has demanded the immediate resignation of the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Ishaq Oloyede, over technical errors in the recently conducted 2025 UTME.
The JAMB Registrar, at a press conference on Wednesday, admitted the board’s failure and apologised to affected candidates. Overwhelmed with emotion, Oloyede broke down in tears while addressing the media.

His apology comes amidst widespread condemnation and protests following a record rate of failure in this year’s examination.
However, Sowore dismissed the public apology as insincere. “The Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Oloyede, bears responsibility for the organisation’s egregious errors, which have devastatingly claimed a young life,” Sowore stated.
“Shedding crocodile tears is not a remedy for these infractions. As a first step, he should resign, followed by a thorough investigation and possible prosecution for manslaughter. Moreover, JAMB must be scrapped. #revolutionnow,” he added.
