The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has attributed the ongoing blackout across multiple parts of the Federal Capital Territory to a technical fault, stating that efforts are underway to restore power, though no timeline was offered.

In a public notice posted on its official X account on Saturday, the company confirmed the disruption and identified affected areas including Jabi, Kado Estate, Life Camp (partly), Gishiri, Mabuchi, Kadokuchi, Navy Estate, Anan House, Jahi Village, NAF Conference Centre, Lake View Phase 1 & 2, Custom Quarters, Dakibiu, and other surrounding communities.

“Our technical team is working tirelessly to restore power supply as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to serve you better,”the Disco stated.

Despite the assurance, the company did not provide an estimated time for full power restoration, leaving residents and businesses in uncertainty amid worsening heat and disrupted economic activities.
