  • 2024 WAFCON Award Winners: Super Falcons clinched the title, with Ajibade named MVP and Nnadozie Best Goalkeeper.

  • Chebbak took the Golden Boot, while South Africa earned the Fair Play Award.

  • Coach Madugu was crowned Coach of the Tournament.

Nigeria hit the jackpot at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), scooping the trophy and most of the individual prizes to prove they dominate African women’s football.

Captain Rasheedat Ajibade grabbed the Most Valuable Player award by earning three Woman of the Match nods and leading Nigeria to their record-breaking 10th WAFCON title.

She scored once but powered “Mission X” with nonstop energy from the first whistle to the final buzzer.

Goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie earned Best Goalkeeper honors, saving every shot in open play until Morocco finally scored twice in the final.

2024 WAFCON Award Winners: Ajibade, Nnadozie Shine.

She only conceded a semi-final penalty and then stood her ground against Morocco’s attacks.

Morocco’s Ghizlane Chebbak smashed in five goals to clinch the Golden Boot, even finding the net in the final match.

South Africa won the Fair Play Award for their sportsmanship and discipline, despite bowing out in the semi-finals.

Interim coach Justin Madugu steadied the ship after a rocky start and steered the Super Falcons to victory, earning Coach of the Tournament.

His game plan helped Nigeria peak at just the right moment and cemented their reputation as Africa’s top women’s team.

Morocco will host the next WAFCON in 2026, promising another thrilling celebration of African talent.
