President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will today travel to Jos, Plateau State, for a high-level engagement with Christian leaders across northern Nigeria.

According to a statement released Friday by Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, the visit will begin with funeral prayers in honour of Nana Lydia Yilwatda Goshwe, mother of the APC National Chairman, Professor Nantewe Yilwatda Goshwe.

Church Leaders’ Meeting

After the funeral rites, Tinubu will proceed to the headquarters of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Jos, where he is scheduled to address a gathering of northern church leaders.

 

The Presidency has not disclosed the full agenda of the talks, but insiders say discussions will centre on religious harmony, governance, and the role of the church in fostering peace in Nigeria’s diverse northern region.

One-Day Visit

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Lagos on Saturday, October 4, for Jos… The President will later address Church Leaders across the North at the headquarters of the COCIN Church in Jos. He will return to Lagos on the same day after the visit,” the statement signed by Mr Onanuga read.

The meeting comes amid renewed calls for national unity and inclusiveness in governance, particularly from religious blocs in the North.
